In recognition of their outstanding achievements, the Merit Award was granted to 9 professors at the Faculty of Medicine. The Merit Award is awarded for the professor (classroom lecturer and seminar leader) who received the highest number of student votes. In the framework of the event, 20 medical students received a National Higher Education Scholarship due to their outstanding results.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"In his greeting, Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Kellermayer, dean of the Faculty of Medicine was talking about the unifying power of becoming a role model. \u201cUs, professors, always have to carry out our tasks in full awareness of the fact that we could become role models. In the meantime, students also have to pay attention to the fact that they could become role models for their fellow students or their future students. This is what brings us together as a community\u201d, said he.<\/p>\n

The medical students of the Faculty of Medicine (II-VI years) had the opportunity to vote for the best classroom lecturer and seminar leader of a course attended by them during the previous academic year. The Merit Award was granted on the basis of student votes, in recognition of the professors\u2019 outstanding educational activities. Those classroom lecturers and seminar leaders were provided with this award, who received the greatest amount of votes per class. This year\u2019s 250th<\/sup> academic year, 9 professors were awarded in recognition of their outstanding educational activities.<\/p>\n

As a classroom lecturer and seminar leader, the following professors were awarded with the Merit Award: Dr. K\u00e1roly Altdorfer, associate professor at the Department of Anatomy, Hystology and Embriology; Dr. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 K\u00f6les, associate professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; Dr. P\u00e1l Riba, associate professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy; and Dr. \u00c9va Toronyi, associate professor at the Department of Transplantation and Surgery.<\/p>\n

As a seminar leader, the following professors received the Merit Award: Dr. J\u00e1nos Barna, associate professor at the Department of Anatomy, Hystology and Embriology; Dr. S\u00e1ndor Katz, senior lecturer at the Department of Anatomy, Hystology and Embriology; and Dr. Be\u00e1ta T\u00f6r\u0151csik, associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry.<\/p>\n

As a classroom lecturer, the following professors were awarded with the Merit Award: Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Kellermayer, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Gerg\u0151 Szanda, senior lecturer at the Department of Physiology.<\/p>\n

\"\"The ceremonial event was followed by the presentation of the award certificates of the National Higher Education Scholarship, which was granted to 20 medical students for their outstanding results. The list of students who received the scholarship can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Those students can receive the National Higher Education Scholarship, who registered for at least two semesters during their current or previous studies, acquired at least 55 credit points, achieved a 4.25 cumulative credit grade point average, have an outstanding achievement at a TDK conference or in a professional area and accomplished all the compulsory courses during the completed semesters prior to applying for the scholarship.<\/p>\n
