{"id":20583,"date":"2020-02-20T23:25:59","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T22:25:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/?p=20583"},"modified":"2020-02-22T10:51:17","modified_gmt":"2020-02-22T09:51:17","slug":"semmelweis-is-the-top-hungarian-university-in-the-latest-the-ranking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/2020\/02\/semmelweis-is-the-top-hungarian-university-in-the-latest-the-ranking\/","title":{"rendered":"Semmelweis is the top Hungarian university in the latest THE ranking"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"lead\">Semmelweis University ranked 70<sup>th<\/sup> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2020\/emerging-economies-university-rankings#!\/page\/0\/length\/25\/sort_by\/rank\/sort_order\/asc\/cols\/stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020<\/a>, which makes it the top higher education institution among the eight Hungarian universities in the list.<\/div>\n<p>The learning environment, the number of international students and lecturers, the quality of research, the number of citations to the institution\u2019s publications and market revenue are taken into account when drawing up the ranking. Based on the above, and considering the scores, Semmelweis University\u2019s previous result has improved (the aggregate score changed from 35.5 to 37.5). In addition, the development priorities of universities of emerging economies, such as industry relations and international perspectives are evaluated as well.<\/p>\n<p>The ranking of emerging economies compares 533 universities from 47 countries (only 442 universities were ranked in 2019), and this year\u2019s leading positions in list are occupied by Chinese higher education institutions (Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University). New players in the 2020 ranking are universities from Saudi Arabia and Iceland.
