As in previous years, this two-day conference, which serves as a scientific forum for Semmelweis University\u2019s Ph.D. students, attracted participants from numerous other universities, including the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of T\u00e2rgu Mure\u015f (Romania).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1030\" title=\"Ph.D. Scientific Days 2011\" src=\"https:\/\/semmelweis.hu\/english\/files\/2011\/04\/phd-scientific-days-2011.jpg\" alt=\"Ph.D. Scientific Days 2011\" width=\"534\" height=\"188\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. K\u00e1roly R\u00e1cz, president of the University\u2019s Doctoral Council welcomed the participants, after which Dr. Tivadar Tulassay, rector of Semmelweis University, presented his opening address.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The first part of the scientific programme included lectures by Dr. Zsuzsa Schaff and Professor G\u00e1bor Pavlik, both of whom had won the title of \u201cOutstanding Ph.D. Instructor\u201d in 2010.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The newly created Vilma Hugonnai medallion, which recognises the achievements of the University\u2019s young female doctors, instructors and researchers, was also presented as part of the conference.
