\u201cI held my first lecture in this hall at the age of 24. This memory is still one of the most significant ones.\u201d, said Dr. Timea T\u00f3th, college associate professor of the Departmental Group of Applied Psychology at lecture hall No.1 of the Faculty of Health Sciences in Erkel street.<\/p>\n

As she recalled, on the day of her first lesson on education theory 29 years ago there was a television programme being shot that she did not know about.<\/p>\n

\u201cI held my first lecture literally in the spotlight, so my excitement was doubled. Since then, every time I enter the room, I look for the cameras. I like not only the classroom, but the whole building as well. The Faculty of Health Sciences was established here in 1975, which was called College of Health Sciences back then. I started my career here and a nurse training centre had been operating here in the 1950s.\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n\r\n [slb_exclude]\r\n

One of the interesting features of the building, situated in a suburban area, surrounded by family homes, is one of Semmelweis University\u2019s student dormitories on the top floor. Currently, most of the part time trainings are held in Erkel street, whereas full time programmes are run in the building in Vas street. To Dr. Timea T\u00f3th, this place is an island of peace, the lush green garden and the little fountain are great for relaxation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is always lovely to find a small green area in the city. In the beginning, there used to be team building barbecue parties for students and staff alike. I have also held lessons here, in the garden.\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

Dr. Timea T\u00f3th has been working at the University’s Faculty of Health Sciences for 29 years. She teaches pedagogical subjects at the Departmental Group of Applied Psychology. Currently, she teaches seven subjects, including health education, family and general pedagogy and learning methodology.<\/p>\n
