\"\"<\/a>Hungarian medical university students represented Hungary in 14 different sports at the 29th<\/sup> summer Universiade, which was organized in Taiwan this year. Semmelweis students achieved excellent results in several sports: Ren\u00e1ta Katona and J\u00falia Mikulik, members of the female sabre fencing team were awarded with a silver medal, so was Vikt\u00f3ria Gy\u00fcrk\u00e9s in 3000 metres steeplechase.<\/p>\n

The female sabre fencing team have beaten the Russian team in the quarter-final (32-23), then they have beaten the Polish team in the semi-final (45-36). In the final the Hungarian team was competing with the Japanese team: the final result was 45-38, the Japanese team won. The members of the Hungarian team were Ren\u00e1ta Katona and J\u00falia Mikulik (Semmelweis University, Faculty of Health Sciences), Anna M\u00e1rton (ELTE) and Petra Z\u00e1honyi (Budapest University of Technology and Economics). As J\u00falia Mikulik expressed in an interview with a representative of the Hungarian University and College Sport Association (MEFS), she was disappointed because of her previous individual results, therefore she was pleased to have the opportunity to receive an award together with her team members. As regards fencing, the Hungarian team occupied the first place in the medal table: they were provided with three golden medals and three silver medals.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Vikt\u00f3ria Gy\u00fcrk\u00e9s, student of the Faculty of Health Sciences, has won the silver medal in 3000 metres steeplechase, and she managed to beat the Turkish Ozlem Kaya. As Vikt\u00f3ria Gy\u00fcrk\u00e9s recalled in an interview with a representative of the Hungarian University and College Sport Association (MEFS), she had the feeling at the last steeple that she could really overtake the Turkish racer. At this year\u2019s summer Universiade Orsolya Balogh, a student of the Faculty of Dentistry participated in the female foil fencing tournament, while Botond Mihalovits, a student of the Faculty of Medicine participated in the judo competition.<\/p>\n
