Our university started a student exchange program with Saitama Medical University, the well known private Japanese university five years ago. Since then, two students from each university spend a one month summer practice at the other university every year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the course of the visit the President of Saitama Medical University, Dr. Toshio Yamauchi and the Rector of Semmelweis University, Dr. Tivadar Tulassay signed an agreement for further 5 years and a letter of intent aimed at the widening of the cooperation between the two institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Tivadar Tulassay presented awards to the members of the Japanese delegation as an acknowledgement of their work in deepening the cooperation between the two universities. Dr. Yamauchi presented a similar award surgery professor Dr. J\u00f3zsef S\u00e1ndor who was the initiator of the cooperation.
