A key element of the rector’s program is the Family-Friendly University Program, the backbone of which is health-preserving, disease-preventive healthcare and preventive services. Semmelweis Citizens and their family members over the age of 14 living in the same household can now register for full-fledged family doctor (GP) care.<\/strong><\/p>\n

BOOK Appointment<\/a><\/p>\n

From now on, Semmelweis Citizens can decide to transfer to the Semmelweis community of practice model by changing their general practicioner (GP). It is important to note that family members must transfer from their current GP in order to receive care. Semmelweis University provides full support to Semmelweis Citizens in the transfer process; after appearing at the family doctor\u2019s office, the staff of the Specialized Clinic will initiate the change of GP by recording their personal data.<\/p>\n

With the introduction of family doctor care, Semmelweis Citizens will have easier, local access to health services, and in the event of more serious health problems, it will also be easier to organize patient trips to the Clinical Center\u2019s health services.<\/p>\n

The community of practice model can effectively support the encouragement of employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle and can also contribute to the creation of a healthy work environment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In addition to the \u201cusual\u201d primary care provided by a general practicioner, they focus on prevention, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and maintaining psychological and mental health. They provide an opportunity for healthcare professionals working together to make more informed decisions in primary care, in consultation with each other. The practice is staffed by several faculty members of the Department of Family Medicine, which may be a bit unusual for patients who prefer to always consult the same family doctor with their health problems.<\/p>\n
