Dorottya Po\u00f3r\u2019s six comic-like paintings present both a personal and collective perspective on cancer. She broke down the different aspects of the disease into enigmatic frames, to which she assigned quotations and text fragments reflecting her personal experiences as well as her reading. The dramaturgy of the story is informed by her personal experience as a teenager when her mother had been diagnosed with tumour. It was only as an adult that Po\u00f3r came face-to-face with the reality of what her mother had gone through. Now, nearly a decade later, through conversations, they tried to revisit the events that had transpired around the disease. The tension of the images is created by the quotidian, sometimes surreal scenes, the mixing of the narrator\u2019s roles and the changing distances in time. The choice of material for the work was primarily driven by the need to enlarge the drawings that resemble memory snippets, and to render the story to be told readily accessible and transparent.<\/h6>\n
