Vizsg\u00e1lataik sor\u00e1n nagy hangs\u00falyt fektetnek a gyermekkorban kialakul\u00f3 vesebetegs\u00e9gek genetikai h\u00e1tter\u00e9nek felt\u00e9rk\u00e9pez\u00e9s\u00e9re, valamint a jellemz\u0151en feln\u0151tteket \u00e9rint\u0151, cukorbetegs\u00e9g talaj\u00e1n kialakul\u00f3 KVE patomechanizmus\u00e1nak felt\u00e1r\u00e1s\u00e1ra. A kutat\u00f3csoport eredm\u00e9nyei hozz\u00e1j\u00e1rulnak a KVE-ben szenved\u0151, valamint a vesetranszplant\u00e1lt betegek \u00e9letmin\u0151s\u00e9g\u00e9nek jav\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1hoz, tov\u00e1bb\u00e1 \u00faj diagnosztikus \u00e9s ter\u00e1pi\u00e1s megold\u00e1sok kifejleszt\u00e9s\u00e9hez. T\u00f6rekv\u00e9seik sikeress\u00e9g\u00e9t bizony\u00edtja, hogy hallgat\u00f3ik \u00e9s munkat\u00e1rsaik rangos hazai \u00e9s nemzetk\u00f6zi tudom\u00e1nyos konferenci\u00e1kon mutatj\u00e1k be eredm\u00e9nyeiket, valamint a csoport dolgoz\u00f3i k\u00e9pviseltetik magukat t\u00f6bb hazai tudom\u00e1nyos t\u00e1rsas\u00e1gban, illetve szerkeszt\u0151i \u00e9s lektori tev\u00e9kenys\u00e9get folytatnak t\u00f6bb nemzetk\u00f6zi szakfoly\u00f3iratn\u00e1l.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\nA Gyermekgy\u00f3gy\u00e1szati Klinika (B\u00f3kay utcai r\u00e9szleg) t\u00f6bb mint 30 000 gyermek ell\u00e1t\u00e1s\u00e1\u00e9rt felel\u0151s a K\u00f6z\u00e9p-Magyarorsz\u00e1gi r\u00e9gi\u00f3ban, \u00e9s emellett hazai k\u00f6zpontja sz\u00e1mos kr\u00f3nikus betegs\u00e9ghez vezet\u0151 k\u00f3rk\u00e9pnek (vese \u00e9s h\u00fagyutak velesz\u00fcletett rendelleness\u00e9gei, diab\u00e9tesz, \u00fajsz\u00fcl\u00f6ttkori oxig\u00e9nhi\u00e1nyos \u00e1llapotok, gyullad\u00e1sos b\u00e9lbetegs\u00e9gek, velesz\u00fcletett anyagcserebetegs\u00e9gek). Kutat\u00f3csoport egyik kiv\u00e9teles er\u0151ss\u00e9ge a klinikai szakorvosok valamint az alapkutat\u00e1ssal foglalkoz\u00f3 szakemberek egym\u00e1st kieg\u00e9sz\u00edt\u0151, szoros egy\u00fcttm\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9se, ami megteremti a lehet\u0151s\u00e9g\u00e9t az egyes betegs\u00e9gek patomechanizmus\u00e1nak, kezel\u00e9s\u00e9nek \u00e9s kimenetel\u00e9nek egy int\u00e9zetben t\u00f6rt\u00e9n\u0151 vizsg\u00e1lat\u00e1ra.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\nA kutat\u00f3laborat\u00f3riumhoz kapcsol\u00f3dva az ut\u00f3bbi 10 \u00e9veben nyolcan szereztek MTA doktora c\u00edmet, valamint 30 munkat\u00e1rs v\u00e9dte meg Ph.D. fokozat\u00e1t, nagyr\u00e9sz\u00fck az\u00f3ta is szoros egy\u00fcttm\u0171k\u00f6d\u00e9sben dolgozik a kutat\u00f3laborat\u00f3riummal. Jelenleg 6 f\u0151\u00e1ll\u00e1s\u00fa kutat\u00f3, 1 kutat\u00f3i \u00f6szt\u00f6nd\u00edjas, 15 Ph.D. hallgat\u00f3, 1 laborat\u00f3riumi asszisztens dolgozik a laborat\u00f3riumban. \u00c9vente \u00e1tlagosan 20 f\u0151 TKD hallgat\u00f3t foglalkoztatnak. A kutat\u00e1s infrastruktur\u00e1lis h\u00e1ttere is nemzetk\u00f6zi szint\u0171. A k\u00eds\u00e9rletek kivitelez\u00e9s\u00e9hez sz\u00fcks\u00e9ges alapvet\u0151 molekul\u00e1ris biol\u00f3giai technik\u00e1k eszk\u00f6zig\u00e9nye (PCR, Western Blot, immunhisztok\u00e9mia, FACS) a laborban rendelkez\u00e9sre \u00e1ll. A steril k\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00e9nyek k\u00f6z\u00f6tt t\u00f6rt\u00e9n\u0151 sejtteny\u00e9szt\u00e9shez, valamint in vitro m\u00e9r\u00e9sekhez a sz\u00fcks\u00e9ges technikai h\u00e1tt\u00e9r adott. A laborban foly\u00f3 in vivo vizsg\u00e1latokhoz, valamint \u00e1llatk\u00eds\u00e9rletes betegs\u00e9gmodellekhez akkredit\u00e1lt \u00e1llath\u00e1z biztos\u00edtja a k\u00eds\u00e9rleti \u00e1llatokat. Egy\u00e9b sz\u00fcks\u00e9ges m\u00f3dszerek, mint a konfok\u00e1lis, illetve k\u00e9t-foton mikroszk\u00f3p, a Semmelweis Egyetemen m\u0171k\u00f6d\u0151 core facility-k seg\u00edts\u00e9g\u00e9vel \u00e9rhet\u0151ek el. A kutat\u00f3csoport szoros kollabor\u00e1ci\u00f3s kapcsolatot \u00e1pol t\u00f6bb hazai \u00e9s nemzetk\u00f6zi kutat\u00f3k\u00f6zponttal. Szenior kutat\u00f3i az USA-ban, valamint angliai \u00e9s n\u00e9metorsz\u00e1gi kutat\u00f3csoportokban dolgoztak vend\u00e9gkutat\u00f3k\u00e9nt. Ezek a kollabor\u00e1ci\u00f3k kiv\u00e1l\u00f3 lehet\u0151s\u00e9geket biztos\u00edtanak a folyamatos kutat\u00f3cser\u00e9re \u00e9s k\u00f6z\u00f6s publik\u00e1ci\u00f3kra, melyek a tudom\u00e1nyos nemzetk\u00f6zi kapcsolatok \u00e9s kutat\u00e1s h\u00e1l\u00f3zat \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9s elengedhetetlen r\u00e9szei.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A Kutat\u00f3csoport \u00e9s a Gyermekklinik\u00e1n (B\u00f3kay utcai r\u00e9szleg) m\u0171k\u00f6d\u0151 kutat\u00f3laborat\u00f3rium 2017. \u00e9vi publik\u00e1ci\u00f3s aktivit\u00e1s\u00e1t 15 tudom\u00e1nyos k\u00f6zlem\u00e9ny (IF:43,248) jellemzi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"keretes\"><strong>MTA-SE, Pediatrics and Nephrology Research Group, Budapest<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Leader:<\/strong> Dr. Attila Szab\u00f3<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Pediatrics and Nephrology Research Group, supported by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), was established in 1999 with the initiative and leadership of Dr. Tivadar Tulassay. In 2017 Dr. Attila Szab\u00f3 became the research group\u2019s leader and continued the outstanding research work of the past nearly two decades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\nThe main purpose of the research group is to investigate the mechanisms leading to chronic kidney diseases (CKD). In their investigations, they emphasize the genetic background of kidney disease in childhood and the pathomechanism of CKD in adults. Another important objective of the research group is to investigate the possible drug therapies supplementing kidney transplantation, which can be used to improve long-term survival of grafts. The results of the research group contribute to improving the quality of life of CKD patients and renal transplant patients as well as developing new diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\nThe research team also places great emphasis on innovation based on basic research. They developed a method for precise molecular marker determination of tissue fibrosis. Furthermore, as a result of their investigations on identification of new therapeutic targets and biomarkers, the potential role of IL-20 cytokine subfamily and sigma-1 receptor in renal fibrosis and ischemia \/ reperfusion injury was described. The research team has significant publishing and successful tendering activities. They won the VKE_17 application program for the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools that can effectively reduce chronic kidney disease associated deaths. In connection with the VKE_17 application the research laboratory started to prepare an international patent for new therapeutic options of a drug already existed on the market. It should be noted that two-photon microscopy core facility was established at Semmelweis University founded by their research group leader Dr. Attila Szab\u00f3\u2019s VEKOP grant. One of the group\u2019s top priority is to embrace talented young researchers and to launch them on a career in science. They cooperate with the Clinical Doctoral School of Semmelweis University in the education of postgraduate students. Their success is demonstrated by their students and colleagues presenting their achievements at prestigious national and international scientific conferences. Members of the research group are leaders or leadership members of numerous professional societies, as well as editorial board members of several well known international scientific journals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\nThe Department of Paediatrics (B\u00f3kay street) is responsible for health care of more than 30,000 children in Central Hungary and is also a treatment center of several chronic illnesses including kidney and urinary tract disorders, diabetes, neonatal hypoxia, inflammatory bowel diseases, congenital metabolic diseases. In the research group there is a strong collaboration between basic scientists, laboratory experts and clinicians that created a milieu which enables them to investigate the pathomechanism, therapy and outcome of diseases in a single institute.<br \/>\nIn the past 10 years 8 people were awarded by the title of Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and 30 students acquired Ph.D degree in connection with their work in the research laboratory. Currently 6 full-time researchers, 1 researcher fellowship, 15 Ph.D. students and 1 laboratory assistant and 20 students work in the research laboratory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\nThe research group has excellent infrastructural background. For their experiments a special animal house was built in the past years where the suitable ventilation, sterile filtered air, temperation and cyclic lighting of the animals are insured. They are aware of all molecular biological techniques that are needed for this study and the technical equipment includes all tools that are essential for basic molecular biology (PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, FACS, in vitro techniques and genetic engineering methods). Through core facilities at the Semmelweis University and in cooperation with the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s L\u00f3r\u00e1nd University other needed techniques e.g. confocal imaging, are also available. The research team collaborates with several Hungarian and international research centers. Their senior researchers were guest researchers in the USA, England and Germany.
