Dear IFMSA Members,<\/span><\/p>\n

It is with great pleasure that I open the exciting opportunity to be part of the Organizing Committee of the 6<\/b>t<\/b>h Edition of the Youth Pre<\/span>-World Health Assembly Workshop (Youth PreWHA<\/span>).<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Youth PreWHA<\/span>?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is an international activity organized by IFMSA that consists of a 4-day workshop that will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from the 17th to the 20th of May 2018<\/span><\/span><\/b>.  IFMSA has been the official representative organization of medical students to the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1969, which has given our federation the unique opportunity to send an annual delegation of young people to the annual World Health Assembly. The WHA<\/span> is the highest decision-making body of the WHO, which takes place immediately after the workshop. The aims of the Youth PreWHA<\/span> is to equip young leaders with the skills and knowledge to be actively involved in the meeting, as well as for youth organizations to align their strategies and prepare for the meeting to achieve a maximum impact. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Organizing Committee (OC<\/span>)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The OC<\/span> will take a major role in organizing the event and will also be expected to be present and have a supportive and coordinating role during the WHA<\/span> as well. <\/span>As it has been done during the previous edition, the Liaison Officer to the WHO (undersigned) will not be the chair of the OC<\/span>, which means that this crucial spot is open. However, I will supervise the OC<\/span> as the person from the TO who\u2019s responsible for the PreWHA<\/span> and as well function as the Program Coordinator of the OC<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The suggested constitution of the OC<\/span>, including main tasks, is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n
