What are they? During the course, four primary areas of bioinformatics (fundamentals of bioinformatics, omics, integrative science, and artificial intelligence) will be presented in lectures. During the practical sessions, students will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge software for data analysis, including a detailed evaluation of next-generation sequencing data. During the course, students will acquire valuable practical knowledge in everyday scientific work in the future (e.g., TDK, thesis, Ph.D., clinical research).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Data and Requirements of the subject<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Academic year:<\/strong> 2023\/24<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course coordinator: <\/strong>Prof. Dr. Bal\u00e1zs Gy\u0151rffy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Credit value<\/strong>: 3<\/p>\n<p><strong>Total number of classes:<\/strong> 42 hours<\/p>\n<p>-lectures:19 hours<br \/>\n-practical lessons: 23 hours<br \/>\n-seminars: 0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of\u00a0 subject: <\/strong>optional<\/p>\n<p><strong>Place of instruction<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Theory:<\/strong> 2nd Department of Pediatrics, T\u0171zolt\u00f3 str. 7-9, Room: AOGY.2-01<br \/>\n<strong>Practical training<\/strong>: 2nd Department of Pediatrics, T\u0171zolt\u00f3 str. 7-9, Room: AOGY.2-01<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prerequisites for course registration and completion:<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Successful first 4 semesters (Medical Physiology II, Molecular Cell Biology II).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student headcount conditions for starting the course (minimum, maximum) and method of student selection:<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Minimum number of students: 20<br \/>\nMaximum number of students: 60<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply for the course<\/strong>:<br \/>\nNeptun registration<\/p>\n<p><strong>Form of assessment in the study period: <\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Completion of the tasks described in the practical training, which accounts for 50% of the end-of-semester assessment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements to obtain the teacher\u2019s signature: <\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The number of absences from lectures and tutorials cannot be more than 25% of the total number of tutorials in a semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of assessment:<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The semester ends with the completion of a project assignment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examination requirements:<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The <strong>project task<\/strong> consists of two parts: 1. 33 multiple-choice test questions from the theoretical topics; 2. A specific bioinformatics task, which is the same as one of the practical tasks studied during the semester, but with new data. The bioinformatics task may be performed using any assistive device, including the use of your own laptop.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method and type of grading:<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The end-of-semester grade will be based on a five-point grading system based on the assignments presented in the practical training (33.3% if at least 75% of the assignments are submitted), the multiple-choice test (33.3%) and the project assignment (33.3%).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>List of course books, textbooks, study aids, and literature facilitating the acquisition of knowledge to complete the course and included in the assessment, precisely indicating which requirement each item is related to (e.g., topic by topic) as well as a list of important technical and other relevant study aids:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Knowledge gained from lectures and exercises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Subject description Two-thirds of recent biomedical research publications include a bioinformatics tool.
