As head of Semmelweis University<\/a>, one of the world’s leading medical and health sciences universities, I am delighted to welcome you to our website, where you can find information about our programs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our institution boasts a tradition spanning more than 250 years. These traditions, along with the values that have been enriched over time, form the basis of Semmelweis University’s current standing<\/a>. We are proud that one of the world’s most famous physicians, “the saviour of mothers” and the namesake of our university, Ign\u00e1c Semmelweis<\/a> studied and worked here. Albert Szent-Gy\u00f6rgyi, the Nobel Prize-winning inventor of vitamin C, graduated from Semmelweis University. The career of P\u00e9ter Gloviczki<\/a>, the most internationally renowned Hungarian vascular surgeon, also began there.<\/p>\n

Semmelweis University is one of Europe’s most significant English<\/a> and German-language<\/a> medical schools. Our graduates are welcomed with open arms anywhere in the world, because the knowledge they gain here can be relied on anywhere, anytime. As rector of the university, I promise and guarantee you that you will acquire the highest level of professional knowledge from your professors and receive the best possible professional and academic background in our institution.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have been a member of the Semmelweis Community for over four decades. As a practicing cardiologist, I believe that medicine is one of the most beautiful professions. To me, Semmelweis University is synonymous with quality, tradition, and innovation.<\/p>\n
