Semmelweis University\u2019s International Research Week will take place from 4-8 November 2019, during which this year’s Semmelweis Symposium, traditionally one of the University’s most prestigious international scientific events, will be held.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Semmelweis Symposium,<\/strong> entitled \u201cTranslational medicine from single molecules to the cardiovascular system\u201d, will be a celebration of the 250th<\/sup> Anniversary of Semmelweis University, and will be held from 5-7 November 2019.<\/strong> The Symposium will focus on translational medicine, with special emphasis on cardiovascular diseases, their therapy and prevention. Topics will be discussed by internationally renowned scientists and health professionals in the form of various presentations and poster sessions.<\/p>\n

Principle organizers of the event: Dr. B\u00e9la Merkely, rector, Dr. P\u00e9ter Ferdin\u00e1ndy, vice-rector for science and innovations, and Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Kellermayer, dean of the Faculty of Medicine.<\/p>\n

In the frame of the scientific event series, Semmelweis Symposium will be followed by the annual Doctor Honoris Causa ceremony<\/strong>, Dies Academicus (\u201cUniversity Day\u201d)<\/strong>, as well as the scientific awards ceremonies <\/strong>of the university on 8 November 2019.<\/p>\n
