Eurolife is a network of nine prestigious academic institutions across Europe (University of Barcelona, Semmelweis University, Trinity College Dublin, University of Edinburgh, University Medical Center Göttingen, Medical University of Innsbruck, Leiden University Medical Center, Karolinska Institutet, University of Strasbourg) that facilitates collaborative research, joint postgraduate training and education, the exchange of researchers and students and the building of joint research projects.

Eurolife organises the below Summer schools in 2019 for MSc and PhD students which are a very good vehicle for bringing together students, teachers and researchers.

 

 

  • Immune modulation in human and animal infections: impact on health, disease and therapy, Leiden

This year Eurolife will fund 9 grants towards students and researchers from Eurolife institutions, wishing to join the 5-day Eurolife Summer School on immunotherapy, vaccinology, microbiota interventions and drug development for infectious and hyperinflammatory diseases, including novel therapeutic approaches such as host-directed personalized therapies.

Who can apply: (bio)medical Master students, PhD students, as well as early stage post-doctoral scientists who are interested in one or more of the following; immunology, microbiology and metabolism.

Location: Leiden, The Netherlands

Date: July 8, 2019- July 12, 2019.

Participation fee: free for selected students from Eurolife Consortium institutions nominated for the Eurolife Summer School grant (9 grants available, preferably 1 per Eurolife institution). Meals and accommodation are included in the participation fee. Candidates are expected to organise and fund their travel to- and from- Leiden.

This year Eurolife will fund 9 grants towards students and researchers from Eurolife institutions, wishing to join the Eurolife Summer School/Workshops in Ireland.  The event will consist of discussions on the fundamentals of neuroscience, followed by mechanisms that are shared across brain disorders and / or that are specific to each disorder, and also computational approaches

Who can apply: The event is open to students, and professionals with a basic background in neuroscience, psychiatry and neurology, and/or to entrepreneurs that are considering investing in the field of brain disorders.

Location: Slane Castle and Dublin, Ireland

Date: The scientific talks will be held in Slane Castle, Co. Meath (16th-21st of June) while the innovation workshop/entrepreneurship training will be held in Trinity College Dublin Business School (22nd-25th of June).

Participation fee: free registration for selected students from Eurolife Consortium institutions nominated for the Eurolife Summer School grant (9 grants available, preferably 1 per Eurolife Institution). Please note that the grant does not cover the accommodation or travel. The selected students will be required to fund and organise their travel to and from the event, as well as the accommodation.
