This special event was preceded by the visit of Dankook University’s leadership to Budapest in May during which they were also welcomed at Semmelweis University by Dr. László Hunyady, dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

Semmelweis University’s Far Eastern relations, including those with Korea, further strengthened in 2014. The University’s efforts were facilitated by the 25th anniversary of Korean-Hungarian diplomatic relations. The cultural-diplomatic events generated by the anniversary created a conducive environment for the development of Korean partnerships and for the identification of new cooperative opportunities.

Among these the official visit of the Korean National Health Personnel Licensing Examination Board’s five member delegation to Semmelweis University was of especially high priority. The traditional Korean instrument was presented by Choi Gwi-Sun, Dankook University’s ambassador in Hungary; Chang Du-Sik, DU’s visiting professor at ELTE and Lee Hae Sung, DU’s planning and evaluation team manager.
