Semmelweis University and the Budapest Metropolitan Directorate of Disaster Recovery held a fire drill at the site of the Nagyvárad tér Theoretical Building (NET) starting at 10 a.m. on March 26, 2019. As part of the drill, the building was completely evacuated and firefighters were called to the scene.

The situation acted out in the drill was a fire (simulated with artificial smoke) breaking out on the 12th floor of the NET, which university workers are unable to extinguish, and thus they call the respective territorial department unit of the fire department. In accordance with the fire drill plan for the building, the NET was completely evacuated.

The Budapest Metropolitan Directorate of Disaster Recovery also participated in the drill. As a result, starting from 10 a.m. fire trucks arrived at the site, while disaster recovery and university personnel (some of them wearing special protective or visibility gear) were to be seen in and around the NET building.
