The European Journal of Mental Health currently publishes research papers, short communications and book reviews. EJMH is aiming at a broad thematic spectrum and is open to the findings of several fields of research, provided they promote and serve a better understanding of mental health broadly interpreted to include the healthy functioning of individual and society.

Research Papers
Here analytical surveys of a field or the findings of interdisciplinary workshops may just as well be published as theoretical papers or empirical research findings, usually between 7-10,000 words. The presentation of results from empirical research must include an adequate description of both sample and methodology.

Short Communications
In this section offering opportunities for the analysis and investigation of a smaller topic or detail question or for the presentation of events and developments in the field of mental health, we invite manuscripts of 2,500-4,000 words.

Book Reviews
EJMHpublishes a limited number of reviews in English or German about books within its thematic scope and published in any language. In addition to invited reviewers, the journal is open to other authors as well and especially encourages the submission of critical-analytical reviews of work published in national languages that may appeal to a broader international readership. Reviews are accepted for publication by the Editors-in-Chief on the basis of an ad hoc peer review. In addition to reviews usually in the range of 1-3,000 words, longer review essays may occasionally also be published by EJMH.
