Confirmed speakers so far:
 

1) Associate Professor Hakan Ertin (Istanbul University – Deontology and History of Medicine)
Associate Professor Hakan Ertin was born in Manisa, Turkey, in 1962. After graduating from the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1986, he completed his doctorate in history of medicine and ethics at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2007, and received the title of
Associate Professor in the same field in 2014. He still works as a faculty member at the
Department of History of Medicine and Ethics at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He is a
member the Turkish Green Crescent Society’s Board of Trustees, a member of the Board of
the Istanbul University MUZEYUM, and the secretary-general of BETİM (the Beşikçizade
Center for Medical Humanities). 

 

2) MD. PhD.  Georgieva Vassilka Nikolova (Medical University Sofia – History of Medicine)

 

PhD. MD. Georgieva Vassilka Nikolova was born in 1955 in Sofia Bulgaria. As she is an exceptional and fascinating academician in the field of medical history, not only the students of Sofia University but other students all across Europe have shown a great interest in her lectures. (One of them being ‘From Genus to Insanity’.) She is currently a Senior Lecturer at Chiasso Switserland Branch of the MUS CEPU, Italy. She also has been organizing various international conferences, one of them being ‘Our Medical Traditions’ She is a board member of the UK Association for Medical Humanities since 2016 and a member of the Balkan Association for the History and Philosophy of Medicine. She is the author and international coordinator of the European Commission Comenius project “MOSAIC – the Seven wonders of our city” which was given the award for best project development, 2013. She is the author and the editor of countless valuable publications, books and textbooks. 

 
3) Ayesha Ahmad PhD (University College of London Medical School – Ethics and Laws)

Ayesha Ahmad PhD, is an outstanding academician who currently works at University College London on Ethics and Law. 
While her specialization is Medical Ethics with a focus on religion and cultural aspects, Dr. Ayesha Ahmad also has a great interest in philosophy, psychiatry, and global health. 
Her diverse work of field has made Dr. Ayesha Ahmad well known that she is currently holding an impressive number of positions, including co-researcher in International Project of Religion and Dialogical Justice at Academy of Finland, steering committee member of Disaster Medicine Bioethics International Research Group in Brussels, associate resource expert on “Bioethics Beyond Borders NGO” at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, USA. and sub editor at British Medical Journal. 
Dr. Ayesha Ahmad currently has 7 publications on topics such as “Electronic Communication and Medical Care”, “Death Panels and Limits of Medicine”, and “Nourishing the Soul”, and more than 10 works of her are under review, waiting to be published.

The late registration: phase including accommodation is 150€ (limited to 65 people) and without accommodation is 90€ (limited to 35 people)
